Doktore, kad si se vec oglasio, reci mi molim te koji je model tvog Music Mana. Oni su svi sa skalom 25,5" ili sam pobrkao? Da li i na Stratu i na Music Manu koristis .011?

ne bih zeleo da se petljam u analize dobrog zvuka i debljine zica ali koliko je sve to relativno, Billy Gibbons covek ceo zivot svira 08, kaze sve ostalo mu je tesko. Vai i Satriani 09. Debele zice debeo ton?! al zamalo. Svako treba da svira ono sto mu odgovara, nije ovo body bilding.

Stivijev Strat, međutim, jeste imao bitno deblji vrat od ovih današnjih "prutića" koje stavljaju na sve gitare. Prokleti šrederi su svojim zahtevima za "ultrabrzim vratuljcima" upropastili kompletan dizajn većine električnih gitara - i učinili medveđu uslugu svima nama koji bismo svirali i nekako drugačije osim pip-štip-brzo-brže-ciju-skvik stilom.
Do sedamdeset i neke su svi Stratovi imali lepe, masivne vratove, skoro duplo deblje od sadašnjih reizdanja. Generalno, što stariji Strat, to masivniji vrat. Ah, a tek oni divni modeli od 1954. do 1965... Takvi vratovi trpe trinaestice bez većih problema.

Gilmour cepa 08, takodje, ako sam dobro cuo.

I veće pragove. Ali to nije bio njegov izbor - prosto je toliko uništio grifplatnu svojom agresijom (udarci trzalicom, divljački bending, teške žice) da je najlakše bilo skinuti par milimetara palisandera celom dužinom vrata i ukucati džambo čelične pragove (kako bi držali žice što dalje od grifplatne i kako se ne bi brzo istrošili). U tom procesu je skoro nemoguće vratiti grifplatni stari radijus, jer bi palisander sa rubova vrata morao da se skine skroz do tačke na kojoj se lepi na javor. A pošto je Stivijev No. 1 imao "slab board"...

I to je priča o Stivi Rej Vonu, kokainomanu i egomanijaku, i njegovom omiljenom Stratu.

zapravo je snaga jedan od kljucnih osobina djitariste... pa sta bi stivi bio da nije imao snagu i endjurens ko u bika?
i jimmy page je svirao 8 i 9...

Misc Notes
• The headstodck on #1's original neck had been damaged by Stevie himself. He had attempted to recreate a trick he saw his brother do by bouncing the guitar off the wall and catching it. The headstock split when Stevie attempted this. The headstock was taped up and later repaired.
• The fingerboard had worn down due to the number of refret jobs over the years. According to the Fender® Custom Shop, upon examination of #1, the neck had been repaird after it was damaged in an accident while on tour. The original neck was replaced with a neck from one of Stevie's other guitars, and then later by a neck from Fender. The original neck was put back on after Stevie's death.
• There is a hole that was patched on the right side of the bridge/tremolo plate. This is either a mistake created when attempting to install the left handed tremolo or this is the hole that will be left as the left handed tremolo arm is now located on the left side of the bridge/tremolo plate.
•Stevie used very heavy gauge strings and his set-up had the string action very high. This combinded with the large fretwire gave Stevie his signature guitar tone.
• The stickers for the block SRV letters and the Custom sticker were items Stevie would find at truck stops.
• Stevie's guitar tech would use heat shrink electrical tubing to reinforce the strings where they cross the bridge plate and travel through the body. This was a point of the greatest friction and caused strings to break. So the tubing helped allieviate the friction.
• Stevie's pickups were sheilded and there is also information stating there was a dummy coil installed to help with ground buzzing, which single coil pickups are prone to.

ma debljina zica je jako jako relativna stvar. Sve zavisi sta zelite da postignete. Debjina zica je samo jedna od karika pazljivo odabranog sistema, koji ide od instrumenta, pickupova, drveta, pa do pedala, efekata, pojachala, micova etc etc. Nekad su tanje zice podesnije za nesto, nekad deblje, nema univerzalnih reshenja. Ali posto ovakva pitanja na forumima obicno postavljaju ljudi koji tek ulaze u svet muzike, a posto je muzika ipak pitanje strasti i ljubavi, za pocetak su 09 ili 010 sasvim dovoljne, da se na tom putu istraje i zavoli sve to, a ne da se isfrustrira i batali zbog zuljeva i drugih problema koje pogresno odabrane zice kao i pogresni saveti mogu da izazovu.

Da, starim i pamćenje me više ne služi kao nekad... Šeset' treća. Na sreću, nisam pogrešio za Stivijev Phase II (slab board) vrat, proizvođen od 1959. do 1962. - zapamtio sam ga baš zbog Stivija i preoblikovanja grifplatne.

A za debljinu žica, opušteno. Nema tog tona na svetu koji zaslužuje da se zbog njega dobije "carpal tunnel syndrome", artritis u prstima ili oštećenje nerava / ligamenata šaka.

U jeee, pa i nije mala korekcija.

Ali zato jedan lokalni patoloski lazov koji svira 25 tonova u sekundi koristi 0.07 Shadow zice. Pa vi vid'te!

e da, kad smo kod Steve Ray Vaughna, covek je preferirao pure nickel zice, kakve su nekada samo i postojale i to GHS Nickel Rockers.
